Ooh La Galah

Galahs are a common kind of cockatoo and Aussie icon. 

They might be common, but they sure are pretty.

Dapper Darter

I do believe this is a Darter, a pretty hefty old water bird I spotted out at our local reservoir, which is now a haven for wildlife after years of miserable drought.

The snake-like neck is a very handy fishing tool – not so good for the little fishes.

Still Life

Yay – he sat still-ish for one second! I'm loving the stripes on his face – nice work Mother Nature.

Little Fantail

These little birds are new visitor's to the garden. The Grey Fantail – quite different to the New Zealand Fantail. The bird book says, "very active."  Yes, I can vouch for that!

Now I really wouldn't want to get in a boxing ring with this one. Check out those shoulders! Not too mention those claws! 

Kanga Watch

This lovely one was part of a mob enjoying an afternoon graze. A while back I saw two big kangaroo's swimming! Swimming across deep water for quite a distance. So amazing! And I didn't have my camera – still kicking myself!

Eagle Alert

A Wedge Tail Eagle swooping around looking for dinner. Powerful, beautiful and bloody impressive. 

The Three Cockatoo's

Aren't wings amazing? I wouldn't mind some. Pretty impressive how cockies can screech and fly at the same time. It must be fun!
